Welcome to Gipsey Bridge Academy part of the Infinity Academies Trust
Gipsey Bridge Academy strives to offer a personalised approach to learning that involves pupils, parents and staff working together to ensure children achieve their potential. The school maintains its traditional small school values and family ethos whilst being outward looking in its learning about the world. We have achieved the International Schools Award, are an eTwinning School and a Gold Rights and Respecting School.
And in 2013 Ofsted's interim assessment said;
"I am pleased to inform you that our interim assessment indicates performance has been sustained and we can defer the school's next inspection."
In October 2014 Ofsted stated that:
"Leaders have a very accurate view of the school's strengths and areas for improvement. They use this information well to ensure that teaching and pupils' progress are continually improving."
"The early years work is outstanding. Children in the Recepion class learn extremely well."
"Some aspects of teaching are very strong, such as the teaching of phonics and marking in English and Mathematics."
"Pupils behave well, are enthusiastic about learning and are proud of their academy. They are respectful to adults and each other as they move around the academy and play outside."
And in September 2018, Ofsted stated:
'This school continues to be good.
The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection.
... a culture of a strong sense of purpose and high expectations for staff and pupils. Everyone works together as a team and staff morale is high. All staff who responded to Ofsted’s staff survey said that they are proud to be a member of this small community.
You provide pupils with a welcoming and stimulating learning environment. Pupils enjoy coming to school. Their behaviour is good and often exemplary. Pupils talk with enthusiasm about their lessons and other learning outside classrooms. They listen respectfully to each other’s views and to adults’ instructions. Older pupils excitedly described to me how they are organising a spelling club for younger pupils in the school. Pupils throughout the school are well mannered, polite and considerate.
Parents and carers are supportive of the school. They particularly expressed positive views about the ‘caring and helpful’ staff. Parents also remarked on how eager their children are to come to school because learning is fun.'
