This week, the children started to look at writing a newspaper report. They looked at the genre features that are required for it to be a good one and they looked at an example of what a good one looks like. They also looked at writing features it needed. The children then started to plan a report about an event of their choice. Some of the events they chose were: The moon landing, The World Cup Final, The Battle of Britain and the discovery of fossils.
In history, the children looked at the ancient country of Benin and the impact it had on the word with its famous Bronze statues and artefacts.
The children also looked at how European countries became involved in the salve trade and how it impacted on the slaves and the rest of the world.
