Week 8
Literacy
This week, we were very excited about reading the story, 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson. We thought about the purpose of the story and the audience which it is aimed at.
In pairs, we then we given a small piece of text from the book. We were asked to read the piece of text with prosody whilst acting out that part of the story. We had such fun on our broomsticks!
Science
This week we completed out innovate challenge.
Working in groups, we chose one person to put petroleum jelly onto their hands and lather them with glitter. In our groups, we carried out an activity where we had to share the resources.
We noticed how quickly the glitter transferred from out hands to the equipment and subsequently onto the other children's hands. We were shocked that even after washing our hands, we still had traces of glitter on them so we concluded that our washing process needs to be very thorough.
