Religious Education
We have started our new project, the Jewish celebration of Hannukah.
Our memorable experience involved a teacher led activity where eight candles that wouldn't blow out! We related this to the eight day celebration of Hannukah and then learnt about the story of Hannukah. Within this story, there was a miracle where the oil burned for eight days even though there was only enough to allow the burning for one.
After this, we worked in groups to produce freeze frames of the story. Our facial expressions and body positions really portrayed different parts of the story, some showing the evil, wicked, king - Antiochus the fourth.
