Science
In Science today, we explored our teeth, including their shapes, names and purposes. We talked about how we keep our teeth healthy and explored their structure, making our own representations, like the one below.
RE
We have been learning about the Hindu celebration ‘Janmashtami’ this term. We have studied Lord Krishna, including the story of his birth and some of his 108 names. This week, we completed our own version of Krishna’s crown, which always includes a peacock feather, to symbolise beauty and grace. We went on to study some typical Hindu dances, before creating some of our own!
D&T
This week has been DT week in Class 2! We have really enjoyed exploring our 'Fresh food, Good food' project. We have learned all about why foods can decay, the benefits of food preservation, use by and best before dates and the importance of food packaging. We have explored different types of existing food packaging and then deconstructed and reconstructed them to look at nets. We then used our own nets to a 3D box. This helped us to design and make our own food package for our healthy snack that we made! We made healthy rainbow fruit skewers ensuring we used the correct methods and techniques to prepare our skewers.
