This week, the children have been looking at examples of balanced arguments and thinking of what balanced argument they could do. Some of the ones they have come up with are: Should we go Vegan? Should we buy fair trade products? Is modern farming better? Should we buy free - range eggs?
In Geography, the children looked at coffee growing in Peru and Citrus fruit growing in California. In both of these lessons, they looked at the type of climate and why it is particularly good to grow those products and the process of growing and harvesting them.
On Wednesday afternoon, we had a virtual visit from author Tom Palmer. This was a very good and informative session with Tom telling us about his life, how he writes his books, where he gets his inspiration and who bases his characters on. The children asked Tom some very good questions and responded well to is responses.
