We started back after half - term continuing with our Maafa topic. The children looked at Black people in Britain in the 20th century, The Race Relations Act and Lives of black people in Britain today.
In writing, the children were introduced to the 'Giant's Necklace' book by Michael Morpurgo. This book will be used as the stimulus to write a narrative over the next 3 weeks. The after looking at the front cover and blurb on the back, the children made predictions about what they thought they might happen. We also looked at the features of a narrative and what the children would need to include to write a good narrative of their own.
