Science
This week, in science, we have been sorting materials according to their properties using Venn diagrams. It has given us a much deeper knowledge of the materials and was really good fun testing and sorting.
We then moved on to our Innovate investigation: Which material would be best to make bunting for our outside school environment?
The bunting needs to be bendable and waterproof. We thought about the materials that we had explored previously and chose some to use for our bunting.
Using a vote, we predicted, as a class, which we thought would be the best material.
We then hung some indoors and then some outdoors. We are so excited to see whether our predictions are correct next week!
Art
This week in art the children continued to use their knowledge of colour mixing to create their own Kandinsky inspired painting. The children challenged themselves to use a range of different primary and secondary colours.
Music
Class one have really been enjoying our music lessons this term. All lessons have been based on a main song called Menu Song. We have been trying hard to learn the words and this week we introduced both a slow and faster rhythmical beat within set parts of the song. Some of us even got to play percussion instruments to keep the beat and will are looking forward to continuing this next week!
