Companion Project: Signs of Spring Weeks 5 & 6

In the Signs of Spring project, Reception children will go on a walk to look for signs of spring in the local area. They will learn about the changes that happen in spring, including the weather and living things. Springtime festivals will also be explored.

Ideas to support your child at home during this project include:

  • Go on a spring walk and take photographs of the signs of spring.
  • Make a weather diary to observe how the weather changes.
  • Visit a pond and look for signs of new life, such as ducklings and frogspawn. Visit again over time to observe changes.
  • Share & discuss the following useful documents:

Week 5

This week we went on a Springtime walk around our school grounds, on the look out for any signs of Spring! We were excited to tick off lots of things from our list including daffodils, tulips, snowdrops and new buds growing on the trees.

We have also been listening to 'Spring' by Vivaldi, as well as observing the weather and recording on our own weather charts.
