This afternoon, we explored polar days and nights. We used diagrams to understand why the North and South Poles experience extreme day/night in different seasons and explored their position in relation to the Sun as the Earth orbits.
Our task was to choose a presentation medium to record our understanding. Some groups made PowerPoints, some made videos and another group even made a stop-motion!
We’ve been exploring stencilling this week! We prepared our stencils by carefully cutting them out. We then taped them into our sketch books, ready to paint in the next session.
Last week, we researched different Inuit sculptures, thinking about the themes. This week, we put out research into action, using clay tools and bars of soap to create our own sculptures!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
