This week, in writing, the children started to plan re- telling the Lighthouse narrative they have been working from. They planned out the different parts of the film and then wrote the paragraphs for each one. After proof - reading and editing each paragraph, the children then published their work.
In art, they started a companion project - Inuit Art. They looked at the different types of art that the Inuit use, such as sculptures and prints. The children, using bars of soaps carved their own sculpture of an Arctic animal.
The children then looked at Inuit printing and cut out stencils of Arctic animals and printed them on to card.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
