Week 3

This week, the children researched about Egyptian society and hierarchy. They drew a pyramid to represent the different classes in Ancient Egypt. The children then researched the different societies.

In Art, the children finished their sketches of some of the treasures found in Pharaoh Tutankhamun's tomb.

The children also produced fact files about a Pharaoh of their choice.

Egyptian Treasures

Week 2

This week, the children did more research on the treasures hidden inside Pharaoh Tutankhamun's tomb and they produced a timeline of Ancient Egypt.

They also looked at where Egypt is in the world and some of the important places that were in Ancient Egypt. They labelled these on a map. The children were amazed how close the pyramids are to some of the houses.

Week 1

Week 1 saw the children being introduced to the Pharaoh Tutankhamun. They learnt about how his tomb was discovered by Howard Carter after being paid by Lord Carnarvon to find it.

They looked at the steps taken to opening the tomb and the treasures that were hidden it.

Egyptian Workshop

The children were welcomed back to school with an Egyptian Workshop.

One of the first Egyptians they were introduced to was Thoth - the god of writing, magic, wisdom and the moon.

We were then introduced to one of the Egyptian Gods - Akhenaten.
